The newest work in the Tamayura anime series, Tamayura: Graduation Photos Part 3: Yearning, will be released in Japan on Nov. 28. The Tamayura series is a popular anime that follows photography lover Fu Sawatari. Tamayura: Graduation Photos is a tetralogy that expresses the swaying hearts and emotions of the main characters just before high school graduation. So far, parts 1 and 2 have been released (on April 4 and Aug. 29 this year, respectively). Part 3 will be released on Nov. 28, and part 4 will follow close behind.
A trailer has also been released this time for Tamayura: Graduation Photos Part 3: Yearning. The trailer gives 30-seconds of footage overlaid with Maaya Sakamoto’s theme song “Kore Kara.” Part 3 will take place during the event “Shoukei no Michi” (Road of Yearning) in the traditional district of Takehara City, which appears in the TV series too. Part 4 will round out the tetralogy and bring the story to a climax when it hits theaters in Japan on Feb. 20, 2016.
Tamayura was introduced in 2010 as an OVA, and the first season of the TV anime Tamayura: Hitotose aired in 2011. Season 2 aired in 2013, and Tamayura: More Aggressive aired this year. Event screenings also began this year with Tamayura: Graduation Photos.
The movie tetralogy is being worked on by many of the staff members of Aria, which is currently holding event screenings as part of its 10th anniversary project. Directing is Junichi Sato who worked as chief director on Sgt. Frog and Fushigiboshi no Futagohime and the character designer and chief animation director is Haruko Iizuka who worked as character designer on School-Live! and Little Busters. With such a talented staff, Tamayura: Graduation Photos is shaping up to be everything fans have hoped for.
