The main staff behind Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai (aka Anohana), a huge hit 2011 TV anime and 2013 theatrical anime, has reunited on the original animated movie Anthem of the Heart (aka Kokosake), which is screening in Japan as of Sept. 19 to high praise. With a variety of collaboration projects already developed, new merchandise is set to be released for these two series.
Three items are being released this time: a T-shirt, mug, and keychain. Each comes in two versions: a Kokosake Jun version and an Anohana Menma version.
Each of the T-shirts has a watercolor-like design, and the characters depicted in faint watercolor style have a different impression than their anime counterparts. Each tee costs 3,800 plus tax. The mugs feature on one Jun drawn in a tasteful touch and on the other Menma drawn in an anime style with colored lines. Each mug costs 1,200 yen plus tax. The acrylic keychains feature Jun and Menma in deformed style, and each one costs 600 yen plus tax. The lovely designs make these items charming not just as anime merchandise, but also as useful everyday items.
Sales began with the Jun versions in mid-September. They are being sold at two locations: the Odaiba Aquacity Mediage 1F Atrium during the event “Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Kokogo ga Sakebitagatterun da in Odaiba Dream Mega Summer Matsuri” and the Shinjuku Marui Annex 1F Event Space during the event “Kokosake x Anohana Premium Shop @Shinjuku Marui Annex.” They will be on sale at each location until Wednesday, Sept. 30 and Wednesday, Oct. 7, respectively. Fans who’ve enjoyed Anohana and Kokosake should take note of both these events and merchandise.
