In the issue of Weekly Shonen Champion released on the same day, a new illustration of Splatoon protagonist Inkling and Squid Girl was published.
Squid-chan’s ready to fight in Splatoon!
Inkling, who can transform into the shape of a squid in Splatoon, and Squid Girl, an invader who comes from the ocean in the slapstick comedy Shinryaku! Ika Musume.
Given that both protagonists share the common feature of being squids, when Splatoon first went on sale there were official collaboration illustrations published, and it was announced that they were working on collab gear.

The gear being announced will show up in the game’s item shop as ”bouillabaisse” at random. The grand prize winner of the gaming magazine Weekly Famitsu’s collaboration design ”Squid Fashion Contest,” the “Sushi Shop Taisho” gear, has also been added.
