Morinaga & Company, Ltd. is one of Japan’s top confectionary companies, and they will hold their first booth at Japan’s premier doujinshi event, Comic Market, from Aug. 14–16 to promote inJelly, a jelly beverage known as a 10-second meal. Along with this news, they have released an unofficial video that dramatically explains the rules of Comic Market titled “How to Survive Comic Market.”
The company is setting out to aid in everyone’s energy at Comic Market through their inJelly booth that encourages inJelly’s use as a “battlefield food ration.” At the booth located on the fourth floor of the West Hall, there will also be a group of muscular guys called the “10-Second Charge Corps” who will supply both physical and mental energy to attendees tired from waiting in long lines in the intense heat. Along with original performances including “Ohime-sama Macho” and “Kinniku Ranbu,” attendees will be able to take commemorative photos as well. Aside from this, inJelly will be on sale to cool down attendees. Those who purchase an inJelly from the booth will receive as a present a sticker drawn just for the occasion by popular illustrator chamooi.
Coming before the booth’s debut at Comic Market, the company has released an unofficial video that explains the inherent rules of Comic Market titled “How to Survive Comic Market.” The video was posted to a special web page and YouTube on Aug. 6. The video teaches to first-time attendees the unwritten rules of Comiket and features a story that veteran attendees will sympathize with. Performing in the video is Moe Tsurumi from the Pixiv Production female idol group Niji no Conquistador as the commander of the 10-Second Charge Corps. Moe explains the rules and good manners of Comiket as the video narrator. Member Yuka Shigematsu of the group also appears in the video. She appears as a cosplayer attending Comic Market wearing a lovely cosplay outfit.
