The first part of the live-action movie adaptation of Hajime Isayama’s popular manga Attack on Titan will be released across Japan on Aug. 1. Under director Shinji Higuchi’s leadership, a wonderful cast including Haruma Miura has been gathered and he is achieving what was thought impossible with this adaptation.
Many fans have been anxiously awaiting a follow-up report, and now a trailer showing the 3D Maneuver Gear in action has finally been released. In the trailer, you can see members of the Survey Corps using their 3D Maneuver Gear to fly through the air.
The video depicts a large highlight of the series: the use of 3D Maneuver Gear to “exterminate” Titans. Members of the Survey Corps fly about left and right in the video, beginning with Haruma Miura dressed as Eren Yeager. The visuals that overflow with a sense of speed only live action can capture will stir up anticipation.
The live-action Attack on Titan project got off the ground in December 2013 and has attracted massive amounts of attention each time new information is revealed. The information released to date has captured the worldview of the series in its entirety and includes shots of the frightful Titans, members of the wonderful cast, and more. For this reason alone, the 3D Maneuver Gear scenes released this time will likely gain buzz.
In addition to the release of this trailer, four special ways to experience the world of the series through the movie have been announced. The movie will use the cutting-edge systems IMAX, 4DX, MX4D, and D-Box. The simultaneous implementation of these four systems is a first in the history of Japanese film. This ambitious trial gives a sense of the project’s large scale.
According to the announcement, the movie is in the final editing stages and will be completed very soon. With the release of this newest trailer, the “attack” will finally begin.
