During E3, Nintendo released its first trailer for the upcoming Wii U title, Star Fox Zero.
In the trailer, Fox McCloud and his allies Slippy, Falco, and Peppy return to pilot Arwings, as gamers have used in previous Star Fox games. The Landmaster Tank also makes a comeback, and is joined by two other vehicles - the Gyrowing drone that can be used in sneaking missions and the Walker which runs on land. The Walker is a new Arwing transformation. Going from Walker mode to Arwing mode can happen with a push of a button on the Wii U gamepad.
The game's description can be found on Nintendo's official E3 page.
"Fox, Falco, Peppy and Slippy save the Lylat system in this new deep space dogfighting adventure. Using the Wii U GamePad controller and the TV together creates a unique interface that allows players to experience the game with two different viewpoints within the Arwing – aim and shoot enemies in one direction while flying in another. This frees up the TV for a more cinematic flight experience. Then, pilot the Arwing with its new Walker transformation, along with the new Gyrowing and the Landmaster Tank, to traverse interplanetary terrain."
The game is scheduled to be released late in 2015 during the holidays. A Fox and Falco amiibo already exist from the Smash Bros. series, but Nintendo is also currently working on a prototype for an Arwing amiibo.
