It has been confirmed that the Animate Girls Festival (AGF) will be held in Ikebukuro, Tokyo on Nov. 7 (Sat.) and 8 (Sun.). AGF is put on by Animate, a well-known purveyor of anime and game goods, and is a large-scale event for otome fans.
The event, to be held over two days, will focus on otome games and anime, BL comics, hobby goods, cosplay, and food—a gathering of content just for otome fans. The event is held yearly, and the long-anticipated announcement of the 2015 event has been made.
Looking toward the opening of the event, a special site has already opened. Here, the main visual of AGF 2015 is available, which adds to the excitement of the announcement of the confirmed event dates. The main visual fully expresses the town of Ikebukuro. It is studded with themes present throughout Ikebukuro. Just as the illustration shows, the event has expanded from its main venue of Ikebukuro Sunshine City to encompass the entire Ikebukuro area. It seems AGF 2015 will completely take over Ikebukuro.
At this year’s AGF, to be held on Nov. 7 (Sat.) and 8 (Sun.), there will be over 100 company booths. Also occurring will be the town-wide project Animate Girls Food Festival themed after “AGF x food.” A collaboration with Tokyo Otome Restaurant has also been confirmed for the project.
Also to be held again this year is the cosplay event “Acosta! in AGF” which brings excitement every year. The aim is for it to be an interactive event for both those watching and the many cosplayers participating. More information on this year’s AGF will be announced on the official site.
