The newest information has been announced on the already hyped up TV anime Charlotte by original creator/scriptwriter Jun Maeda. The series has been confirmed to begin broadcasting in July. Raising anticipation for the broadcast, a key visual and the main staff have also been revealed.

The Charlotte key visual shows the four main characters. Heroine Nao Tomori is also shown holding a Handycam, raising questions as to how this item is connected to the story. Each of these four characters also has a superpower, for example Nao can make herself disappear from one person’s field of vision. Because this anime is an original project, aside from the fact that it will be a school story that interweaves superpowers, details on the story are still shrouded in mystery.

The newest PV is set to be released on April 2. This may reveal new information on the anime, so look forward to it as well.

The main staff is comprised of members who have participated previously on Maeda’s works. Directing the anime is Yoshiyuki Asai who previously handled storyboards on Angel Beats!. With Maeda in charge of the original concept, scripts, and music, the 2010 anime Angel Beats! became hugely popular, and because of this it can likely be said that Asai’s appointment as director here is pleasant news for fans. In charge of character designs is Kanami Sekiguchi from Shirobako and True Tears. Other staff members from Angel Beats! include art director Kazuki Higashiji and sound director Satoki Iida. The anime is being produced by P.A. Works.

Charlotte is Maeda’s second original anime project. This large-scale project has been gathering attention ever since production was revealed at the December 2014 event “Aniplex x Key Presents New Project & Angel Beats! News Presentation.”
