An advance screening of episodes 1 and 2 of the TV anime Seraph of the End was held at Marunouchi Piccadilly in Yurakucho, Tokyo on March 15. The event included a unique gimmick: the entrance fee was named after main character Yuichiro Hyakuya and cost 108 yen. Author Takaya Kagami also went on stage at the event and a discussion unfolded. But that’s not all, Kagami also revealed something unexpected for the anime.
The anime Seraph of the End will be 24 episodes total spread across two cours, one broadcasting from April to June, the other October to December. On the other hand, there is growing interest over which parts of the original manga will be animated. Regarding this, we’ve been told that Kagami will draft the story for several episodes not yet published in Jump Square. It also seems Kagami is supervising the scripts up until the final episode of the anime.
Also in charge of scripts for all episodes is series composer Koji Seko. Solely creating scripts for all 24 episodes of the 2 cours is quite an impressive feat. Seko has gained high regard for his work on such anime as Attack on Titan and Terror in Resonance. Now he’s putting his talent on display with composing the series and penning every script.
Regarding this challenge, Kagami has released the following comment:
“I’ve done it! Even though the neighsayers said ‘Impossible I say, impossibleeee!’ and the flatterers said ‘No no, he can do it. Kagami-sensei can do it,’ it took more than a year, but I wrote it all the way to the unbelievable future!
“On top of that, unexpectedly, I was outshined during a business meeting by series composer Seko who penned every script of the anime! And the scripts he gave me are really excellent, so everyone, please enjoy!”
On top of this, there is one more big piece of news. Additional members of the talked-about cast of the anime have been confirmed. The focus this time is on the Moon Demon Company led by Guren Ichinose, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. Joining the cast are Daisuke Ono as Norito Goshi, Atsumi Tanezaki as Sayuri Hanayori, Yui Ishikawa as Shigure Yukimi, and Yu Shimamura as Mito Jujo. This wonderful cast will liven up the broadcast beginning in April.
