The TV anime Knights of Sidonia: War of the Ninth Planet will begin broadcasting during Animeism on MBS, TBS, and other networks this April. This time, information on the theme songs has been announced. The opening theme will be “Kishi Koshinkyoku” by Angela, and the ending theme “Chinkon Uta - Requiem” by Customi-Z. These popular artists are perfect for this talked-about series.
Angela was also in charge of the theme song to the Knights of Sidonia anime broadcast in 2014. Due to gaining prestige for winning the award for Best Theme Song at the Animation Kobe Awards for the theme song “Sidonia,” the fact that she’s creating the theme song for the new anime is a pleasant announcement for fans. The opening theme to Knights of Sidonia: War of the Ninth Planet, “Kishi Koshinkyoku,” will be released as a single on April 29. The coupling song will be “Ai, Hitokakera,” the theme song to Knights of Sidonia the Movie to be released on March 6.
Angela will also release an original album titled One Way on May 20. The tracklist will feature 14 songs including previous singles “Angel,” the opening theme to the TV anime Coppelion, and “Exist,” the opening theme to Fafner in the Azure - Exodus. The first edition of the album will include a special Angela headband. The single costs 1,200 yen, and the first edition and regular edition of the album cost 3,426 yen and 2,963 yen, respectively (prices exclude tax).
Customi-Z will continue from the ending theme to the advance screenings of Knights of Sidonia: War of the Ninth Planet, “Hitosuji no Komyo,” to be in charge of the theme song for the anime beginning in April. The TV anime ending theme “Chinkon Uta - Requiem” will be released as their second major single on June 3. The limited edition will include a DVD of music clips of the theme songs. The limited edition costs 1,800 yen, and the anime edition and regular edition both cost 1,200 yen (prices exclude tax).
