It has been revealed that the second season of the TV anime K that has fans talking, originally announced at an event at Pacifico Yokohama in November 2014, is slated to begin this fall. This news was announced on Feb. 11.
Along with the announcement, the newest PV to the sequel was released. The PV begins with a scene in which Reisi Munakata, the Blue King, is projected throughout the city on large monitors. It will be curious to see just what kind of story will develop from here onward. There’s still a ways to go until the broadcast, so we’ll have to wait attentively.
K began as a popular TV anime series broadcast between October and December 2012. The series has gained overwhelming support especially from female fans for its wonderful characters, popular voice cast and more. Because of its popularity, a movie with a story that takes place after the events of the TV series, K: Missing Kings, was released in July 2014. Now, the story is being carried over and developed upon for the second season. However, no information on the anime has been released at the current time. Look forward to a follow-up report.
In other news, the K: Missing Kings Blu-ray and DVD will be released on April 22. The following additional information on these has also been revealed. The first limited edition Blu-ray and DVD costs 9,000 yen (plus tax) and includes two discs––one of the feature and one of bonus material––an original soundtrack CD, and a short story by GoRA. The newly written short story, “Side Story Collection,” is a wonderful collector’s item first given out as a bonus to moviegoers that also includes the script to the drama CD included with advance tickets, ≪Saber 4≫ ga Aru Kagiri / ≪Homra≫ ga Aru Nara.
Also included is a disc packed with a wide variety of bonus content including footage from Japan Expo in Paris and Anime Expo in Los Angeles, Documentary of K: Missing Kings shown at a stage greeting in Japan, the manner commercial that played during the movie’s screenings, and footage from the November 2014 event “K - In This Place Again.”
Each store selling the Blu-ray and DVD will also have an original bonus item to give out, and information on these has been published on the official site. The Blu-ray and DVD will also be available in a regular edition that costs 7,000 yen (plus tax).
