On Jan. 23, Liberta, a company that specializes in original beauty products, imported watches, and other goods, announced COSCOS, their new line of cosmetics designed especially for cosplayers. They are now available for purchase on the company’s official website.
Four different products are now on sale: Perfect HD Foundation, Clear Rank Up Powder, Perfect Lip Concealer, and Moist Cleansing Water. All are concept items specifically designed for use by cosplayers.
Recently, cosplay has drawn a lot of attention from not just anime fans, but many others as well. It has become much more common for people to cosplay casually at various events.
Some cosplay social networking sites boast nearly 1 million registered members. It’s believed that the cosplay-related markets are worth over 40 billion yen total.
Liberta noticed that so many people are doing cosplay and developed their COSCOS cosplay cosmetics line. What makes them of interest to cosplayers is that they use makeup specifically designed for photoshoots. They are made to maintain vibrant color while minimizing shine. Furthermore, they include a mixture of collagen and hyaluronic acid, making them gentle on the skin.
A survey of cosplayers was conducted during development to hear their opinions, improve the product, and design it with the skin in mind. The packaging is also simple and easy to use.
COSCOS will be available for testing for one month in Shinjuku’s cosplay studio, Booty, beginning in mid-February. It can surely be of use for taking photographs even when you’re not cosplaying.
