The anime The Fruit of Grisaia based on the popular game by Front Wing ended its broadcast with Episode 13 on Dec. 28. Adapting the original work to animation, which has been said may prove difficult, is being tackled boldly, and it’s gathering hordes of attention for its uncompromising production.
Syncing up with the final episode, a big announcement regarding the series was made. Both game sequels to The Fruit of Grisaia, The Labyrinth of Grisaia and The Eden of Grisaia, are getting TV anime adaptations. This was shockingly announced after the broadcast of the final episode of The Fruit of Grisaia on Tokyo MX.
According to the announcement, the new series will premiere in spring 2015 on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, BS11, and AT-X. It will kick off with a 60-minute special. This is no doubt good news for fans who enjoyed the three-month broadcast of The Fruit of Grisaia that began in October.
On the other hand, it has not yet been revealed just what form the TV animes for The Labyrinth of Grisaia and The Eden of Grisaia will take. We’ll have to wait in anticipation for more information to come.
The story of The Fruit of Grisaia begins when main character Yuji Kazami transfers into the boarding school Mihama Academy. There are only six students in the school including Yuji, and they are all female. Before long it is revealed that each of the students carries a complicated past. The Labyrinth of Grisaia tells a story that comes after this. And the sequel to this, The Eden of Grisaia, tells about Yuji’s past.
A talk show and mini concert for The Fruit of Grisaia was held on Dec. 29 during the event Chaos TCG Festival in Akihabara. Artists and members of the cast took the stage including Kaori Mizuhashi, Tomoe Tamiyasu, Maon Kurosaki, and Toru Zeku.
