Isuca to Broadcast from Jan. 23, Fans Can Check Out Episode 1 in Advance at Screening Event

The broadcast start date for the TV anime Isuca has been confirmed to be Friday, Jan. 23, 2015. This timing comes just slightly after the beginning of the year. The opening and ending themes have been officially confirmed as well. These are “Never Say Never” by Afilia Saga and “Somebody in Love” by Two-Formula, respectively.

Isuca is a popular manga that began serialization in Monthly Young Ace in 2009. The manga is authored by Osamu Takahashi, who is also the author of Neon Genesis Evangelion: Shinji Ikari Raising Project, and currently five volumes of the manga are in print. Shinichiro Asano is a poor student who gets a job as a housekeeper in order to pay for rent, and the story begins with him fortuitously meeting a selfish beauty named Sakuya Shimazu. The series calls itself an “after school demon-slaying action/love comedy.”

Afilia Saga’s “Never Say Never” will release on Feb. 11. It is likely that the group will also pick up attention for member Kohime Lit Pucci voicing character Mari Souma in the anime. Two-Formula, who is in charge of the ending theme, is a two-woman vocal unit comprised of Kaori Sadohara, the voice of Tamako, and Saeko Zougo, the voice of Nadeshiko Souma. Their debut single, “Taiyo to Tsuki no Cross,” was used as the ending theme to the anime My Mental Choices Are Completely Interfering with My School Romantic Comedy. “Somebody in Love” is their follow-up single and will release on Jan. 28.

It has also been confirmed that an advance screening of Episode 1 will be held, and this event will also include a mini concert by Afilia Saga and a talk show with members of the cast and staff. Confirmed for the event are Ibuki Kido who plays Sakuya Shimazu, Keisuke Koumoto who plays Shinichiro Asano, and Afilia Saga. The event will be held at Kadokawa Cinema Shinjuku on Monday, Jan. 5. More details are forthcoming.
