Pre-orders have begun for the transforming robot “GearTribe Hatsune Miku GT Project 2014 Ver.,” which was planned by multi-talented creator Shoji Kawamori, who takes on many different roles including anime director and mecha designer. This year, the racing team “GoodSmile Racing & TeamUKYO” took on Japan’s most prominent race, the Super GT, in a BMW Z4 GT3 designed after Racing Miku, and this robot is being released in celebration of the team winning the series to become the Super GT 2014 series champions.
“GearTribe Hatsune Miku GT Project 2014 Ver.” is the commercialized form of the transforming robot thought up by Kawamori, who made headlines with his concept illustrations released earlier this year in February. The frame of the car has a molding even on par with that of model cars and perfectly portrays a realistic race car and its paint job. This is a big robot at 1/24 scale with a total height of 275 millimeters; it’s so big you may not think it would be possible for it to transform from car form. The well-calculated transformation mechanisms offer gimmicks that show dynamic movement never before seen, and even its appearance during transformation will grab your attention.
