In celebration of the Nov. 12 (Wed.) release of the second volume Blu-ray of the TV anime Sailor Moon Crystal, it has been confirmed that a storyboard exhibit will be held for a limited time from Nov. 14-16 (Friday-Sunday). A stamp rally that began in October will also be held at the same time.
“Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal Storyboard Exhibit” will be held at the Motoazabu Gallery in Azabu-Juban, the setting of the series. At the exhibit will be all storyboards for the first four episodes of the anime included in the first two volumes, which total over 500 pages. Also, the first people to purchase at the exhibit the first-release limited deluxe edition Vol. 1 Blu-ray or the first-release limited edition Vol. 2 Blu-ray will receive a mini version of a stamp designed with Sailor Moon’s symbol that was used in the stamp rally.
In addition to upgraded editions of Episodes 3 and 4, the first-release limited edition includes audio commentary by Hisako Kanemoto, the voice of Sailor Mercury, Rina Sato, the voice of Sailor Mars, and director Munehisa Sakai; a deluxe box themed after Sailor Mercury; a Digipak with exclusive Sailor Mercury artwork; a 24-page full-color booklet; and an original “Transformation Stick (Mercury)” charm created by Bandai.
The second season of Sailor Moon Crystal has just been announced, and though forthcoming developments are an area of speculation, the fact that an event is being held for this type of web-based anime is pleasant news for fans. Certainly be sure to drop by while taking in the sights of Azabu-Juban.
