A anime based on Nisio Isin’s standout work, Monogatari series, will release on New Year’s Eve. Tsukimonogatari, which is comprised of four episodes total, will broadcast for two hours from 22:00 to 24:00 on Dec. 31, 2014 on Tokyo MX and BS11 as well as on Niconico. The end of the year will be closed out with the newest series in this popular anime. Three types of media will be used for the broadcast: terrestrial broadcasting, satellite broadcasting, and online. Fans will be able to experience this new work together all over Japan. This is a big New Year’s Eve present for fans.
This isn’t the first time these three types of media have been brought together for the Monogatari series. In 2012, Nekomonogatari (Black) was also broadcast as a marathon on New Year’s Eve in the same manner. The broadcast was hugely popular among fans. Tsukimonogatari will continue in its footsteps.
On Oct. 22, the official site of the anime opened, and distribution of information on the anime began. Among them, the promotional video stands out. The heroine of Tsukimonogatari, Yotsugi Ononoki, is shown in animation for the first time, and a key visual was also released on the same day as the PV that also shows her. Emotions will swell as the broadcast at the end of the year approaches.

Koyomi Araragi is in the final stage of studying for exams when his body begins transforming in a way that “cannot be overlooked.” Possibly retribution for what has occurred thus far, just what is the meaning of his transformation? This will be a point to pay attention to. Continuing on from the previous anime, Hiroshi Kamiya will once again play Koyomi Araragi, and Saori Hayami will play Yotsugi Ononoki.
In other news, the schedule for video releases has already been determined. The anime will cover two volumes. Part 1: Yotsugi Doll will release on Feb. 4, and Part 2: Yotsugi Doll will release on March 4. Each will come in three versions: a limited edition on Blu-ray and DVD and a regular edition on DVD. The limited edition will be packed with wonderful bonus items.
