The Finale of the 15-Year-Old Series - Naruto Serialization Comes to an End

It has been revealed that Masashi Kishimoto’s worldwide popular manga Naruto serializing in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) will be concluded this November. This was announced on the official Weekly Shonen Jump site on Oct. 6. The final chapter will be published in Issue 50 of Weekly Shonen Jump on sale Nov. 10. Naruto began serialization on Issue 43 of the magazine in 1999. Now, this super hit work to which there are over 130 million copies in print will be coming to an end. Because the series is popular worldwide for its manga, anime, games and more, this surprise announcement of the finale will likely spread worldwide as well.

Something else to interest fans will also be released right after the finale on Dec. 6. This is The Last: Naruto the Movie. It seems the mystery behind the suggestive “The Last” in the title, though it sparked many predictions to its meaning, has finally been solved. Kishimoto himself worked on the movie as the character designer and chief story director. According to the teaser already released, a grown-up Naruto will appear in the movie. It seems the movie will include a story set after the original series that will be connected to the original series while also offering new elements not seen previously in the series.

There is also interesting news regarding the new project “Naruto Shinjidai Kaimaku Project” which began earlier this year. The project will sponsor the Naruto Exhibit (tentative name) in 2015 based on the movie The Last: Naruto the Movie. Keep an eye out for even more new happenings to come.
