An anime adaptation of the currently serializing popular manga Isuca by Osamu Takahashi, who has reportedly been progressing on an anime project since June, has finally been confirmed. On Aug. 31, it was revealed that an anime adaptation of Isuca is in the works for 2015.
As stated in a previous report, producing the anime is Arms, which is known for Queen’s Blade, Maoyu, and *Brynhildr in the Darkness. Directing is Akira Iwanaga of Tegami Bachi and the series composer is Masashi Suzuki of I Couldn’t Become a Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job. Additional staff is forthcoming along with new information.
The theme song artist has also already been announced. The nine-girl vocal unit Afilia Saga will be singing about the world of Isuca. Afilia Saga is comprised of the representative members of Afilia Group, a countrywide cafe & restaurant. The group is also known for being produced by Chiyomaru Shikura and Haruko Momoi. The group’s popularity is currently exploding and their hits include “S M L☆,” the opening theme song to My Mental Choices are Completely Interfering with my School Romantic Comedy.
Isuca is a popular “bishoujo demon hunter school action” manga by Osamu Takahashi that is currently serializing in Monthly Young Ace (Kadokawa Shoten). Currently, five volumes of the manga have been published. The story follows main character Shinichiro Asano who is a poor student. Shinichiro begins working for the prestigious Shimazu family as a servant. There he meets Sakuya, a beautiful but crude and selfish girl… Sakuya is the 37th head of the Shimazu family and a demon sealer. However, Shinichiro’s meeting Sakuya is no coincidence.
