Even Ingrams Wear Seatbelts - Car Transportation Manner Poster Themed After Patlabor

A tie-in campaign is underway between The Next Generation: Patlabor, to which seven chapters will release sequentially, and the National Police Agency. Up to now, notice has been paid to several collaboration posters developed for this tie-in including “police-use campaign posters” and “car manner boost campaign posters.” This time, as the third part of this tie-in campaign, it has been decided that posters will be put up all over Japan for a campaign to get everyone to wear seatbelts. This visual was released at the same time.

The poster addresses highway accident prevention. It shows two Ingrams sitting in a backseat with their seatbelts safely secured. Through these two Ingrams in a car both wearing their seatbelts, the poster gives instructions for safety and advocates the responsibility of everyone to wear seatbelts. However, it is unclear just what kind of car the large Ingrams are sitting in the backseat of.

Mobile Police Patlabor began in 1988 and became a media mix franchise spanning manga, videograms, movies, novels, and more. It has many fans all over the world and is a hugely popular, record-breaking series that has left a mark on the history of anime. It has been roughly a quarter of a century since its creation. Currently, the live-action movie project The Next Generation: Patlabor is advancing with Mamoru Oshii, director of the anime series, leading the project as chief director.

The movies show real-life versions of the 8-meter-tall AC-98 Ingram and Labor docks linked to the Second Special Vehicles Division. The project, which began releasing in April, is comprised of 12 episodes arranged into seven chapters that will be released theatrically around the country one by one. This wonderfully big project is being bathed in attention and will culminate with the countrywide release of a full-length movie during Golden Week 2015. The newest chapter in the series, The Next Generation: Patlabor - Chapter 3, will begin screening in theaters around the country beginning with Shinjuku Piccadilly on July 12.
