It has been revealed that female artist Luna Haruna’s new song “Startear” will be used as the ending theme to the TV anime Sword Art Online II starting in July. This was announced on June 14 during the event “Lunatic Summit Vol. 0.” Luna Haruna was also in charge of the ending theme to the Fairy Dance arc of Sword Art Online, so she will continue to express the world of the series through her singing voice.

In attendance at the event that served as the location for this announcement were approximately 150 people from the Luna Haruna mobile fan club, Lunatic Planet. There was also a special drink item called a “Luna Haruna Special Highball,” a blend of “Minami Curry” (curry in the shape of an alpaca) and konpeito (a Japanese candy), that was suggested by Luna herself. There was also huge excitement at the event for the quiz tournament, previously unreleased video compilation, and a raffle to win the chance to take photos with Luna.

It was announced at the event that the single for the new song “Startear” will release on Aug. 20. Also, fans cried out in cheers of joy when it was announced that Luna would be holding her first solo concert at the Shibuya Public Hall starting on Dec. 12. Details on how to buy tickets will be announced on the official site and official mobile fan club site.

Luna is scheduled to perform on June 26 at the event “Sword Art Online II Broadcast Start Celebration SP Live” to be held at Shinjuku Blaze. Also appearing at this event will be Eir Aoi who has also been in charge of a theme song to the Sword Art Online series. Many songs related to the series will likely be performed.

Luna Haruna picked up attention after announcing her original song “Binetsu no Tsuki” in the magazine Lis-Ani!, and she made her major debut in May 2012 with “Sora wa Takaku Kaze wa Utau,” the theme song to the second season of the TV anime Fate/Zero. Since then, she has created theme songs for a number of works, including “Overfly,” the ending theme to the Fairy Dance arc of Sword Art Online.
