The ending theme of the TV anime Sword Art Online II to begin broadcasting in July has been confirmed. In charge of the ending theme is Luna Haruna, who was also in charge of the theme song to the first anime. The chosen song is Luna Haruna’s new song “Luna-tic Word.”
This was announced on May 2 during the official Nico Nico Live program Luna Haruna Nico Live-tic Planet. During this show celebrating the two years since her debut, anime character seiyū gave surprise performances as the “heavenly voices.” The show was packed with content including celebratory comments from artists and a tie-in campaign with the mobile fan club Luna-tic Planet.
In the second half of the program, it was announced that an event limited to mobile members called Luna-tic Summit Vol. 0 will be held on June 14. And when her role in Sword Art Online II was announced, there was a huge reaction as fans posted many joyous comments. The ending theme “Luna-tic Word” is a single with limited distribution and is available for purchase on iTunes, Mora, and Recochoku. The song will be on air to enjoy this July.
Luna Haruna picked up attention after announcing her original song in the magazine Lis Ani!, and she made her major debut in May 2012 with the ending theme to the second season of the TV anime Fate/Zero, "Up On the Sky, The Wind Sings." After that, she went on to sing about the worlds of many works, created the ending theme to the Fairy Dance arc of Sword Art Online, “Overfly,” the ending theme to Nekomonogatari, “Ai o Utai,” and the ending theme to Koimonogatari, “Snowdrop.” Don’t take your eyes off this artist who is making new strides while welcoming the second anniversary since her debut.
