The popular manga Denkigai no Honya-san, which is currently serialized in the manga magazine Monthly Comic Flapper (Kadokawa, Media Factory), is becoming an anime. This was announced in the June issue of Monthly Comic Flapper on sale May 2. Denkigai no Honya-san is an adolescent bookstore comedy manga by Asato Mizu that began serialization in 2011. In the series, everyday comedy unfolds at a bookstore called Books Umanohone located deep in an “Electric Town” neighborhood.
In the June issue of Monthly Comic Flapper, there is a big focus on the work, with the front cover announcing the anime. The issue also features a color serialization of the work that is longer than usual and covers two chapters. In addition, there is a message from author Mizu to fans that piles on excitement for the anime adaptation. Information on the staff and cast is forthcoming, but news on the anime will be released in each issue of Monthly Comic Flapper from here on. Don’t miss out on how it develops.
In addition to this, a new manga called Mushoku Tensei - Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu (author: Magonode Rifujinna / illustrator: Yuka Fujikawa / character designer: Shirotaka) began serialization in the June issue of Monthly Comic Flapper. This talked-about work was ranked No. 1 on an aggregate ranking on Japan’s biggest novel submission site, Let’s Be a Novelist. It has already been published as a book, and now it’s appeared as a manga. The magazine features many popular works in addition to Denkigai no Honya-san. It is on sale now for 540 yen (tax included).
Books Umanohone, where main character Umio has a part-time job, is full of employees who love manga. There are many somewhat strong characters and each one has their loved fandom of choice. Six individual volumes have been published so far, and Volume 7 will be released on May 23. How will Denkigai no Honya-san be portrayed as an anime?
