Simulation Drama by Director Kenji Kamiyama that Depicts the Way Cell Phones Should Be in the Future Comes to a Close

An anime developed on the online open laboratory au Future Laboratory, which researches the way cell phones should be in the future, has come to a close with the release of its third and final part.

The anime is directed by Kenji Kamiyama, who is well known for the series Mobile Suit Gundam and East of Eden. It is a simulation drama that depicts the story of Daisuke Kido and Yu Mizue, members of the au Future Laboratory who accidently develop a “Future Phone” that makes communicating with the future possible.

It is revealed in Part 2 that the explosion that occurred during an experiment using the Future Phone was the act of a corporate spy for a certain company. The explosion was a decoy, and the spy is caught on a security camera stealing the prototype Future Phone during the commotion.

In order to expose the company that stole the prototype, the members of the au Future Laboratory create another Future Phone and receive a message from three months prior of a news article on the development of the Future Phone by foreign company New Thunder Technology. Pictured standing next to the director of the company is Kido.
