Anime Slam Dunk is Finally Coming to Blu-ray! All Five Volumes to Release Consecutively Starting in July

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the anime adaptation to Takehiko Inoue’s extremely popular manga Slam Dunk, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1990 to 1996, a Blu-ray version of the anime will be released.

The anime Slam Dunk was an adolescent basketball story that was broadcast on TV Asahi from October 1993 to March 1996. The anime’s highest ratings during its TV broadcast were 21.4%, with an average of 15.3%. The original comic spanned 31 volumes, while the complete edition comic spanned 24 volumes.

The recently announced Blu-ray for Slam Dunk will cover five volumes. Each one will cost 16,000 yen (tax excluded). The first-release limited edition will include a collector’s box as a bonus as well as a 16-page booklet.

Volume 1 of the Blu-ray will release in July with subsequent volumes releasing every other month after that.
