The first broadcast dates and times for the TV anime Gokukoku no Brynhildr have been announced. It will first broadcast on Tokyo MX at 22:00 on April 6. Thereafter, it will broadcast on BS11 at 27:00 on April 7. It will also broadcast during a late-night time slot on Yomiuri TV and Chūkyō TV beginning on April 7. In addition to this, the official site of the anime has reopened. On it, the new key visual shows main character and astronomy club member Ryōta Murakami peering through a telescope. The other main characters are also standing around him, which makes it a gorgeous illustration.
The original work to Gokukoku no Brynhildr is a pure-love dark fantasy manga by Rin Okamoto that is currently serialized in Weekly Young Jump (Shueisha). Fans have their sights locked on this one to find out how this work that is talked about for its uncompromising developments will be expressed as an anime.
At the forefront of the cast is a lineup of popular seiyū that include Ryōta Ōsaka, who played main characters in Hamatora and Ace of Diamond, as main character Ryōta Murakami and Risa Taneda, who played the main female lead in From the New World and Strike the Blood, as heroine Kana Tachibana.
Directing the anime is Kenichi Imaizumi who also worked on Katekyō Hitman Reborn. Writing the script is Yukinori Kitajima who is known from such games as 428: Fūsa Sareta Shibuya de. Much is expected from Kitajima, who is mainly active in the game industry but is also a novelist.
High school student Ryōta Murakami cannot forget his female childhood friend he let die in an accident when he was a kid. In order to fulfill his promise to her to “prove the existence of alien life” he joins the astronomy club and spends each day looking up at the stars. One day, a transfer student named Neko Kuroha who looks just like Ryōta’s childhood friend enters his class. However, she claims to be a “magician” and reveals that she must take a pill each day or she will die. She is also being pursued by those who are trying to her back to where she escaped from. With death drawing near from all sides, the two make a decision…
