Tamako Market Theatrical Sequel Tamako Love Story to Be Released This Spring

Kyoto Animation, the studio behind K-On! and Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions, brings us a brand new story!

The film Tamako Love Story from Kyoto Animation, the studio behind K-On! and Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions, will premiere on April 26. It is directed by Naoko Yamada, who worked on the K-On! series, with a screenplay by Reiko Yoshida and character design by Yukiko Horiguchi. It features a brand new story.

The film is a sequel to Tamako Market, a TV anime series that began airing in January 2013. As the spring of her final year in high school approaches, Tamako Kitashirakawa begins to think about her future and becomes aware of the fact that she has her family and the people of the shopping district and that there are things that change and things that don’t. Then, she falls in love and begins to feel that she is standing at the “entrance of space”...!

A short film following Dera Mochimazzi after he leaves the Usagiyama Shopping District and returns to an island in the south is also set to be released simultaneously. It is titled Dera-chan of the Southern Island. What has become of Dera after the TV series, when he leaves Usagiyama Shopping District to return to the southern island?
