Vocaloid, which was raised up within the music culture, is spreading into yet another area. In addition to music, illustrations, and dances, it has gained popularity in recent years as novels as well. Now, the frontrunner work The Daughter of Evil (Aku no Musume) has been adapted into a separate volume manga series that released on Feb. 17.
Ichika is in charge of the manga, titled Comic The Daughter of Evil - Act 1, the original story to which was created by Mothy_Aku no P. Ichika is the main artist for the series and is making the most out of the work existing in both the worlds of music and literature. The curious story is as follows. People are ruled by a tyrannical queen who is called the “Daughter of Evil.” In close proximity to this queen is a servant who looks just like her. They are even the same age. “I want to protect you...so I will become the face of evil!” The gears of the concealed fate of these two begin to spin out of control.
The manga is comprised of the story from the two novels The Daughter of Evil: Chronicle and The Daughter of Evil: Wiegenlied. The manga also has differences from the novels, making it an enjoyable read even for those who have already read the novels. Aku no P showed his satisfaction with the manga by saying, “It is a revival of the scenery I imagined in my head when I was creating the music and novel,” and, “I was able to make several new discoveries.”
