New Info Released About Special Content for Pokémon Masters in XY, Including Mewtwo and Other Legendary Pokémon!

On Feb. 17, Pokémon Inc. released new information about it’s Nintendo 3DS game, Pokémon XY, including special content that’s unlocked for players who reach the level of Pokémon Master.

In the game, when a player achieves Master rank, they are able to go to Kiloude City, but besides that, there are other special things in store. One of these is the ability to enter the Unknown Dungeon and meet Mewtwo. If you are somehow about to catch Mewtwo, you can get the Mega Stone, which will allow you to Mega Evolve Mewtwo into “Mega-Mewtwo X” or “Mega-Mewtwo Y,” depending on your version of the game.

Additionally, reaching Master rank will cause one of the legendary Pokémon Articuno, Zapdos, or Moltres, to appear in Kalos. Which Pokémon will appear depends on who the player picked as their starter in the beginning of the game. Each time you meet them, the Pokémon will quickly run away, but on the 11th time they will appear in the Sea Spirit’s Den in Azure Bay, where you can finally catch them.

Furthermore, in Lumiose City’s Trial House on North Boulevard, players can undergo the Battle Test, which pits them against five different trainers to test their skill. Why not try it out with your best Pokémon and see how you do?

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y Now on Sale With Rave Reviews!!
**Take your game to the limit with these special Pokémon Master opportunities!**

Pokémon (Tokyo, Minato-ku, President and CEO: Ishihara Tsunekazu) released the latest installment in the original Pokémon series (Development: Game Freak Inc., Sales: Nintendo Inc.), Pokémon XY (Supported devices: Nintendo 3DS) worldwide on Oct. 12, 2013. Here, we’ll show you how to get the legendary Pokémon Mewtwo, and the other adventures that await players once they’ve become a Pokémon Master.

1.The Legendary Mewtwo!

The legendary Pokémon Mewtwo was genetically engineered by scientists hoping to test the limits of combat ability. It is said to have the most ferocious spirit of any Pokémon. In Pokémon XY, once a player achieves Master rank, they are able to encounter Mewtwo.

The unknown dungeon at the end of Route 20. Only players that achieve Master rank can enter this cave. It is here that Mewtwo waits.

If you manage to capture Mewtwo, you will immediately be able to obtain a Mega Stone, which you can use to Mega Evolve Mewtwo. Pokémon X players will get Mega-Mewtwo X, and Pokémon Y players, Mega-Mewtwo Y. With the Mega stones, Mewtwo can achieve two different Mega Evolution forms.

With the Mewtwonite X stone, it will change into Mega-Mewtwo X. This is a Psychic and Fighting type with substantially stronger attacks.

With the Mewtwonite Y stone, Mewtwo can change into Mega-Mewtwo Y. In this form, Mewtwo gets an added bonus to its already high Special Attack stat.

Depending on who the player chose as their starter, they will be able to encounter either Articuno, Zapdos, or Moltres. Chespin players will get Articuno, Fennekin players, Zapdos, and Froakie players, Moltres.

Zapdos

Moltres

Players will be able to encounter Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres in the fields, flower gardens, and the waters of Kalos.

Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres will all try and escape as soon as they see you, but if you chase after them 11 times, they will eventually appear in the Sea Spirit’s Den near Azure Bay, where they can be caught.

The locations where Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres will initially appear in Kalos is set at random.
However, if you look in your Pokédex, you will be able to confirm what Pokémon inhabit different areas.

Once you look the location up in your Pokédex, you can travel there by foot or on roller-skates. If you chose to fly there, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres will also move to a different area, so be careful. Once you encounter Articuno, Zapdos, or Moltres for the first time, their information will be recorded in your Pokédex.

3. Hone Your Pokébattle Skills at the Trial House!
At the Trial House, you can challenge five other trainers in a Battle Test to prove your skills. It’s located in Lumiose City on North Boulevard. Players are able to complete in the Battle Test once they have achieved Master rank.

After competing in the Battle Test, you will be rewarded with Battle Points and certain items depending on how well you do. If you do well, you will get a lot of Battle Points and valuable items.

Winning is not the only factor in getting a good score. Players also have to use many effective attacks, vary the types of attacks, and maintain a high HP for their Pokémon.

You’re sure to get even better as you set out to prove your skills in battle. Once you’ve improved, try using the Player Search System to challenge other Pokémon Masters!
