On Feb. 14, Fujimi Shobo announced on its official site that an anime project for Trinity Seven: 7-Nin no Mahoutsukai (story: Kenji Saito, illustrations: Akinari Nao), the popular manga currently being serialized in Monthly Dragon Age run by the same company, is underway. The announcement of the anime adaptation was made with a Valentine’s Day themed illustration drawn for the occasion by Akinari Nao, giving fans a nice warm Valentine’s present.
Trinity Seven: 7-Nin no Mahoutsukai started serializing at the end of 2010. There are currently seven volumes published, and the total number of copies printed exceeds 600,000. The story takes place at a magic academy. It is a love comedy that revolves around seven beautiful magician girls and a battle fantasy at the same time. The protagonist is Arata, who behaves like an optimistic, healthy boy, and the manga depicts in a comical way his interactions with the seven girls, all of whom possess different appeals, such as huge breasts, twintails, or a tsundere personality. Besides the fan-favorite harem aspect, this popular manga also enjoys high support for its intense battle action.
The original author is Kenji Saito who is well-known for 101 Banme no Hyaku Monogatari and game scenarios. Trinity Seven is his first manga. The illustrator of the manga, Akinari Nao, has a distinctive, sharp, and vivid touch to his works.
