Sakura Trick to Begin Broadcasting in January, Additional Cast Members and First Key Visual Revealed

The anime Sakura Trick will begin broadcasting in January. The anime is based on a 4-koma manga of the same name by Tachi that is currently serialized in Manga Time Kirara Miracle (Houbunsha). Already announced is that seiyū Haruka Tomatsu and Yuka Iguchi Haruka Takayama have been appointed to the roles of main characters Haruka Takayama and Yū Sonoda, respectively. Now, new information on the cast has been announced.

The cast includes a characteristically wide range that spans from newcomers to popular seiyū. Yūka Aisaka, known from the game Chronos Materia, will voice Takayama’s classmate Kotone Noda; Hiromi Igarashi, known from Tenshi no Drop, will voice Takayama’s friend Shizuku Minami; Mai Fuchigami, known from Girls und Panzer, will voice class president Kaede Ikeno; and Megumi Toda, known from the game The Idolmaster Million Live, will voice Kaede’s good friend Yuzu Iizuka. Additional cast members include Saki Fujita, well-known for supplying her voice to the Vocaloid Hatsune Miku, as Yū’s older sister and student council president Mitsuki Sonoda; Momo Asakura as Sumi Otokawa; and Yurika Endō as Rina Sakai. This charming female cast will represent the adolescence of young girls.

Along with this new information on the cast, a key visual was also released. The positioning of Yū back-to-back with Haruka is impressive, and the visual will be used to increase anticipation of the anime.

Sakura Trick tells the story of girls who go to a high school that will be closing down after three years. The story follows the fun and painful adolescence of two girls, Haruka and Yū, who kiss each other to create something special and deepen their relationship. Kenichi Ishigura, director of D.C. III and the third season of Hidamari Sketch, is the anime’s director and series composer. Kyūta Sakai, who has worked on Humanity Has Declined and Steins;Gate, is the character designer. The anime is being produced by Studio Deen, which also produced Meganebu! and Rozen Maiden.
