On Nov. 11, the vocal unit Kalafina performed their new song “Kimi no Gin no Niwa” in front of fans for the first time. To celebrate the single’s release, a talk and live event was held at Lazona Kawasaki Plaza in Kanagawa Prefecture. The song is currently being used as the theme song to Madoka Magica the Movie: Rebellion which is currently playing in theaters. A large upsurge has been seen since this talked-about song was introduced.
“Kimi no Gin no Niwa” was released on Nov. 6. The CD’s coupling song “Misterioso” is also being used in Rebellion. Differing from the theme song, “Misterioso” is used as background music. The event was packed with 6,000 fans and was a huge success that kept fans intoxicated by the beautiful harmonies being played.
The fans who attended to hear Kalafina sing were a given, but even many of those just visiting the Lazona Kawasaki Plaza found themselves unintentionally stopping to listen, being captivated by their beautiful voices. For the event, Kalafina enthusiastically sang three songs, with “Kimi no Gin no Niwa” being one of them. The other two songs were “Misterioso” and “Hallelujah,” the theme song to the movie Garden of Sinners: Gospel in the Future which was released on Oct. 2.
On Dec. 11, Kalafina will release their live Blu-ray and DVD Kalafina Live Tour 2013 “Consolation” Special Final. Thereafter, they will hold solo Christmas concerts at Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Tokyo on Dec. 20 and 23 and at Sankei Hall Breeze in Osaka on Dec. 22. This concert, titled “Christmas Premium Live 2013 ‘Kalafina with Strings’,” will feature special Christmas arrangements of their songs with live piano and strings.
