This time, we’d like to introduce Chapter 1 of the manga The Seven Deadly Sins.

Boar Hat Bar in Britannia is a strange place that serves awful food and delicious alcohol and is packed with customers day in and day out. One day, a person fully dressed in armor appears in the bar.

Customers think the person to be one of the knights belonging to the group known as the Seven Deadly Sins who attempted to overthrow the monarchy, but it is revealed that she is a frail-looking girl named Elizabeth. She explains that she is on a journey to find the seven members of the Seven Deadly Sins.

Meliodas, the owner of the bar, looks after the girl, but seemingly due to a misunderstanding by a villager, a troupe of knights intrude on the bar and demand that the girl be handed over. Elizabeth manages to escape thanks to Meliodas stalling them. Hawk, a talking pig and companion to Meliodas, talks with Elizabeth who managed to escape by the skin of her teeth about why she is searching for the Seven Deadly Sins.

Currently, the king was overthrown during a coup d'état and the kingdom is under the tyrannical rule of the Holy Knights who possess extraordinary power and can each stand up to an entire army. Elizabeth is frantically searching for the Seven Deadly Sins because she believes they are the only ones who can vanquish the Holy Knights.

Why is Elizabeth going to such lengths to protect the kingdom? What danger follows close behind? And what is Meliodas’ true intentions? The curtain opens on the current top ranked fantasy manga.
