Pokémon has released further information about the new “Mega Evolution” system of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y that enables Pokémon to exceed the bounds of their normal evolutions. Earlier this month, the Mega Evolutions of Mewtwo, Lucario, and Blaziken were released. Now, three more Pokémon’s Mega Evolutions have been announced: Ampharos, Absol, and Mawile.
Mega Ampharos
Mega Ampharos’ thick, white mane and tail give it a courageous appearance, and when the electric energy within his body is amplified, the red orbs on its body and tail cast a powerful light. It is also not only an Electric type, but also a Dragon type. Opponents may be puzzled when its type suddenly switches during battle.
Mega Absol
Mega Absol’s energy is amplified, and this causes its hair to stand on end and looks similar to wings. Mega Absol, known for its high attack base stat, has even higher attack and speed stats. It seems like one-move knockouts will be possible.
Mega Mawile
Mawile is known for the large jaw-like protrusion from it head that it can control. Mawile is now classified as a Fairy type, debuting in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, in addition to being a Steel type. Mega Mawile has increased defense and special defense stats. It also can use the move “Huge Power” to deliver a massive blow.
