Information about the first chapter of the long-awaited Persona 3 feature film was released late on a full-moon night on July 23, 2013. The first Persona 3 feature film will be released on Nov. 23, 2013 with the title Persona 3 the Movie: #1 Spring of Birth.
In addition to the title and the release date, the theaters where it will play, main themes, key visuals, main characters, advance purchase information, and other details were also announced all at once. Preparations for the fall release are now fully underway.
The film is an anime version of the PlayStation 2 game Persona 3 by Atlus that came out in July 2006. It enjoys a great deal of popularity among fans. This film will be directed by Noriaki Akitaya, with the animation production being handled by AIC ASTA. Also included among the staff are Jun Kumagai as screenwriter, Keisuke Watabe as character designer and animation director, and Akiko Asaki and Mizuka Takahashi as executive animation directors. The film will be supervised by Seiji Kishi, who excels at turning games into anime. The staff are striving for a high quality adaptation that stays true to the cool world of the original.
The film also features a crowd-pleasing cast that includes Akira Ishida as the main character Yuki Makoto, along with Miyuki Sawashiro, Megumi Toyoguchi, Kousuke Toriumi, Rie Tanaka, Hikaru Midorikawa, Mamiko Noto, and Kazuya Nakai. Fans are also sure to talk about the specially credited performance of the part of Igor by the late Isamu Tanonaka.
Persona is a popular game series made by Atlus. Several games exist within the series, and there has been an active expansion into other media, including anime. Before this film, other anime adaptations have been done as well, such as Persona - Trinity Soul and Persona 4: The Animation.
Persona 3 carried on the world of 1 and 2, but completely changed the setting and other aspects. It will be a long-awaited anime adaptation. With this being the first chapter, there will be much anticipation for the subsequent installments. This film starts with the main character Yuki Makoto, who has transferred to the private Gekkoukan Academy, being accepted into a special extracurricular club made up of people who have awakened to the power of Persona.
It is being distributed by Aniplex and has already been given to 26 theaters nationwide, such as Shinjuku Wald 9 and Umeda Burg 7. Advance tickets will be available for purchase starting on Aug. 10. The “Dark Hour” is a secret time that exists between the end of one day and the start of the next. The city stops and people are transformed into objects. The main character Makoto Yuki, who has transferred to the private Gekkoukan Academy, awakens to this power of Persona and is accepted into a special extracurricular club made up of fellow Persona users.
