Continuation to “Magi” Anime to Begin Airing This October, Key Visual Releases

On July 17 via the official site, it was announced that the continuation to the TV anime Magi, an adaptation of an original manga by Shinobu Ohtaka published by Shogakukan and currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday, will begin airing this October. The first part of the anime was broadcast between October 2012 and March 2013 on MBS and TBS networks nationwide in Japan.

According to the announcement made on the official site, the continuation will again be broadcast on MBS and TBS networks. A key visual was also released. This visual shows Aladdin wearing clothing from Magnostadt and new characters Titus and Sphintus.

Furthermore, it was announced that the voice actors for this continuation will be introduced at a special screening event for episodes 1 and 2 to be held on Sept. 22. To participate in this event, fans will need a priority entry ticket included in either volume 8 or 9 of the Blu-ray or DVD to be released on July 24 and Aug. 21, respectively.

Also, before the broadcast begins, a preview video will be screened on Aug. 4 during the broadcast of Space Battleship Yamato 2199.

Magi is an adventure work based on the One Thousand and One Nights folktales. The original manga currently spans 17 volumes and has broken through 10 million copies sold. The original author, Shinobu Ohtaka, is also known for the work Sumomomo Momomo: The Strongest Bride on Earth, which is currently serialized in Square Enix’s Young Gangan.
