For three days from Aug. 23-25 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture, the large-scale midsummer anime song concert “Animelo Summer Live 2013 -Flag Nine-” will be held. Many anime song singers and voice actresses have already been announced for the event, including Yukari Tamura, Nana Mizuki, Sphere, Milky Holmes, Momoiro Clover Z, and Megumi Nakajima. Now, six more wonderful artists have been added to the lineup.
Flow
Flow made their musical debut in July 2003 with their CD single Blaster. Since then, they have released to the world many hit songs including “Go!!!,” the opening theme to the anime Naruto, and “Days,” the opening theme to Eureka Seven. This year, 10 years after their major debut, they performed the theme song and background music for the animated movie Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. They are currently holding a nationwide tour in Japan.
Aiurabu
Aiurabu is the fictional three-girl unit from the TV anime Aiura, which began broadcasting in April of this year on TV Tokyo and Nico Nico Douga. The unit is comprised of the characters Amaya Kanaka (CV: Yui Nakajima), Iwasawa Saki (CV: Yuko Iida), and Uehara Ayuko (CV: Nao Tamura). They successfully debuted with the opening theme to the anime, “Kani Do-Luck!”. Due to participating in events such as the “Super Anison Fes” at Nico Nico Cho Kaigi, the group has attained popularity.
Gero
This male musician seriously began his musical activities when the songs he uploaded to video sites become hot topics. In July 2011, he announced his first solo album titled Gourmet and has picked up great support while being an indie artist. He officially debuted as an anime song artist this month with the song “Beloved × Survival,” the opening theme to the TV anime Brothers Conflict. Also, his debut album One will release on July 24, and he is holding his third 26-venue nationwide tour in Japan.
LiSA
LiSA became talked about for performing as the second vocalist in the fictional band Girls Dead Monster, Yui, in the TV anime Angel Beats. In the spring of 2011, LiSA made her solo debut under her own name with a mini album. Since then, three of her singles and one of her albums have ranked highly on top 10 charts. She has performed a tour within Japan and has given overwhelming performances to viewers at anime festivals overseas. She has picked up popularity for her friendly personality and fashion sense.
iRis
iRis is an anime song vocal idol unit consisting of six people who won the “Anison Vocal Audition” put on by Avex and 81 Produce. They debuted in November 2012 with the CD Color
Even though each member aims to become a voice actress, they are active as idols under the name iRis. Beginning in April of this year, one of the members, Yu Serizawa, began performing as a voice actress in such anime as Pretty Rhythm: Rainbow Live, Mushibugyo, and Dog & Scissors.
Yuuka Nanri
Yuuka Nanri made her voice acting debut in 2001 when she voiced Bubbles in the anime The Powerpuff Girls. Since then, she has performed characters in many popular works, including Yuki Nao in My-HiME and Mukae Ritsuko in Kids on the Slope.
In 2003, she performed as the vocalist in Yuki Kajiura’s solo project FictionJunction, singing a featured song in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED called “Akatsuki no Kuruma.” She began her solo activities in 2009.
In 2012, she began performing solo concerts, even assertively participating in overseas events. She performed the ending theme to the anime Blood Lad that began broadcasting this month, and she is currently performing in the show as the character Liz.
In addition to the announcement of these six artists participating in “Animelo Summer Live 2013 -Flag Nine-,” pre-orders of official goods for the concert began on Nico Nico Chokuhan on July 10. The goods available to pre-order are all ones that will enliven Japan’s largest anime song concert even more, including T-shirts, towels, and LED penlights that are indispensable for the concert. For those coming from overseas to see the concert, make sure to thoroughly check the goods for sale and the performers in the lineup so you can enjoy the event to its fullest!
