“The Fool” is a large, multi-faceted project headed by Shoji Kawamori of the Macross and Aquarion series. The project was announced by Kawamori himself earlier this year at the Satelight booth at the Tokyo International Anime Fair 2013 and drew attention for its breadth and abundant concepts. News about Nobunaga the Fool, the first portion of this multidimensional project, was released at once. Also announced were some of the voice actors performing in Nobunaga the Fool which is to be a live show.
The part of Oda Nobunaga, the central character in the story, will be played by Mamoru Miyano. Additionally, Yoko Hikasa will play Jeanne Kaguya d’Arc and Takahiro Sakurai will play Akechi Mitsuhide. This lineup of popular voice actors is sure to be a topic among many fans. Other characters set to appear in the show include Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Ichihime, and Leonardo da Vinci. The actors playing these parts will be announced at a later time. The first performance of Nobunaga the Fool will be in winter of 2013. The show will be held three times up through summer of 2014.
The story is set on the Eastern Planet and the Western Planet, which are connected by the Dragon Veins that link the Heavens. Battles in a war that will not end rage continuously on the two planets. Behind this war is the revival of a legendary advanced technology called “Shingi” (God Vessels).
New images from the project have also been released. In these pictures, the cohesion of the highly individualized mecha and characters begins to come through.
