Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s First Japan-Wide Hall Tour Announced

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s First Japan-Wide Hall Tour Announced 1

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu held an additional performance on her world tour on May 30 at Shibuya Public Hall.

The tick-tock of a clock was reverberating in the hall, and the sound of an alarm clock echoed. As the curtains opened, a fantasy world in the theme of “Kyary of the mysterious land” appeared. Then, in synch with “Pamyu Pamyu Revolution,” a sign of Kyary coming on stage, she came out in a yellow, butterfly-themed outfit. She started with the song for celebrating her 20th birthday in January, “Furisodeshon,” then moved on to “Candy Candy.”

People from a wide age group, from small children to adults, gathered for this concert, and there were a lot of people cosplaying Kyary in various clothes! In her latest single, “Invader Invader,” Kyary herself lead the choreography, and everyone in the assembly hall moved as one. As she had just finished her world tour recently, a precious video of the world tour was also shown at the concert. She confessed that she was full of worries about the world tour: “The world tour has ended successfully! But, when the world tour was decided, it had been only two years since my debut and I still had some way to go in Japan, so I wasn’t very eager about doing a live in the unfamiliar abroad...” then, she added that although she was worried, the world tour ended as a big success: “However, on the first day in Belgium, my parents and my friends called me on the phone before the concert started, and as I stood on the stage, the concert fired up! In France, there were a lot of cosplayers. In London, the food was surprisingly good. In Taiwan, a lot of fans were waiting for me at the airport. Iin LA, a hall of 2,300 seats was sold out. In Singapore, there were fans who came to support me from Japan...it was a very fun tour!”

Her second album, Nanda Collection, is going to be released on June 26, and for this performance, she was wearing a brand new “Nanda Kore?” (What is This?) costume in the image of her new album. There were stuffed animal parts attached to various places on her clothing, and Kyary herself looked like a monster in that costume.

After performing the smash hits “Ninja Re Bang Bang” and “Fashion Monster” known from Commercials, the curtains of the fantasy world closed up. When she once again stepped on stage to answer the unstopping encore, she delivered good news, in particular, the announcement of her Japan-wide hall tour from Sept. 7 in Kanagawa to Nov. 23 in Omiya – 23 performances in 21 cities around Japan. “My first Japan-wide hall tour has been decided! In halls, the stage is wide and the lighting is good, too, so I want to create a stage you will be unable to take your eyes off of!” She also talked about her dream: “Lately, I have a dream! A boy, who came to my concert at Budokan looked at me and told me I looked like a fairy...that’s why I want to become an artist who looks like a dream to children!” Her debut song, “PonPonPon” was the last in line, and after 21 songs, the concert in a mysterious land ended.

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu will release her second album on June 26, and we can’t take our eyes off her.
