Additional performances of composer and synthesizer artist Isao Tomita’s latest work “Ihatov Symphony” have been announced. On August 29, the additional performances will begin in Hanamaki, Iwate Prefecture and then be held in various places throughout Japan, including Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka. Of course, Hatsune Miku will once again be the vocalist at each performance.
“Ihatov Symphony” reproduces with magnificent music the utopia dreamt by Kenji Miyazawa. Close to 300 orchestra and choir members perform together with Vocaloid character Hatsune Miku. In November of 2012, the first public performance was held and transmitted live over the internet. It was a huge success that people couldn’t stop talking about.
Also, on April 27, 2013, NHK Educational TV rebroadcast “Depicting Kenji’s Cosmos Using Music ~ Isao Tomita x Hatsune Miku: Alternate Dimension Collab.” The program looks at the five month process of creating the music to the design of the concert, and it made a big impact.
