Pokémon Film “Mewtwo Strikes Back” to Get Complete HD Remastering!

A Pokémon film masterpiece is being made anew!

The initial broadcast of the completely remastered HD version of the first Pokémon film Mewtwo Strikes Back took place on May 3 on TV Tokyo. The film will also be broadcast on additional channels. This film was originally released in 1998 and features the extremely popular Pokémon Mewtwo.

In addition to Mewtwo Strikes Back, the side stories “Ash’s Trip” and “The Birth of Mewtwo” will also be broadcast. This expansion allows fans to be able to enjoy the world of Pokémon even more.

Mewtwo Strikes Back begins when Ash and his friends receive an invitation. However, it’s a trap set up by Mewtwo. When Mewtwo displays his enormous power, the legendary Pokémon Mew appears!

At the time of the initial TV broadcast, Shoko Nakagawa, a presenter on the TV show “Pokémon Smash!” who is also known by the nickname Shokotan, appeared. Nakagawa stated, “*Mewtwo Strikes Back* is the first movie that moved me to tears.” She and others passionately introduced the charm of the movie.

Nakayama will also be voicing the new Pokémon Sylveon, which will appear in the latest Pokémon film Extreme Speed Genesect: Mewtwo's Awakening and the simultaneously screening short film Pikachu and Eevee Friends releasing in theaters throughout Japan on July 13. A highlight from the movie was also introduced on the show.

Extreme Speed Genesect: Mewtwo's Awakening is the 16th Pokémon film. Every summer, Pokémon fans can look forward to a new Pokémon big-screen film. Also, Best Wishes! Season 2: Decolora Adventure, the latest work in the long-standing Pokémon TV anime, began broadcasting on April 25. The excitement of Pokémon continues on!
