News regarding the Blu-ray and DVD release of the second season of Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai (aka *Oreimo), which began airing earlier this month, has been revealed. The first volume will go on sale on June 19.
A limited first edition of the Blu-ray (7,350 yen) and DVD (6,300 yen) will be released at the same time the regular edition (5,250 yen) is released. Fans will be happy to know that this edition will come with a short story written by the original creator of Oreimo, Tsukasa Fushimi. Information on the story hasn’t been revealed, but only those who purchase the limited first edition will be able to read it. Two more extras for this edition are a special audio drama CD and a short movie with chibi characters, both of which Fushimi also worked on. These two extras depict a story in the original novel that couldn’t be included in the anime.
The limited edition Blu-ray and DVD comes in a Digipak illustrated by the original illustrator of Oreimo, Kanzakihiro. Also included is an 8-page booklet and an illustrated pin-up of an ending collaboration, as well as a super picture label.
It appears that Fushimi as also putting all of his efforts into a new game for the series. Between the light novel and the anime, the world of Oreimo is getting even bigger. Furthermore, the final volume of the light novel for Oreimo will go on sale during the TV anime’s broadcast run. Stay tuned to see what special plans are in store.
