The Uta no Prince-sama series has achieved great popularity as games and character songs, and in 2011, it was adapted into an anime. The series has received great fan support, and earlier this month, the second season to the TV anime, Uta no Prince-sama: Maji Love 2000%, began broadcasting.
In commemoration of the start of the second season, the anime shop Animate is holding a campaign until May 6. Whenever fans purchase or pre-order UtaPri-related goods, they will receive a sheet of UtaPri stickers.
Uta no Prince-sama was first released in 2010 as a female-oriented romance game. The story of follows a girl at a performing arts school who is surrounded by handsome guys with their sights set on becoming idols. The songs performed by the idol group within the game, Starish, have become huge hits, and in 2012, the voice actors comprising the fictional group won the Best Singing Award at the 6th Annual Seiyu Awards.
The opening song for Uta no Prince-sama: Maji Love 2000%, “Canon,” is sung by Mamoru Miyano, the voice of Ichinose Tokiya. Furthermore, Starish is also in charge of the main theme song, “Maji Love 2000%.” This is expected to become a big hit as well.
