“Oniai” Exhibition Held in Kotobukiya [1/2]

Have you heard of Kotobukiya before? It is a famous figure shop in Japan. The shop has actually been around for 60 years. However, the company doesn’t just sell figures; it also makes them. In fact, the company is renowned for the quality of its figures. The interior of the shop is a feast for the eyes and is brimming with all kinds of figures, from badass to cute. From Jan. 11-20 at the Kotobukiya shop in Akihabara, a special exhibition was held for the anime Onii-chan dakedo Ai sae Areba Kankeinai yo ne! (also known as simply Oniai).

Speaking of Oniai, the anime features a 14 year old voice actress named Ibuki Kido who plays the character Himenokoji Akiko, a sister who is in love with her older brother. Due to this and other reasons, the work has become quite popular. The exhibition featured a compilation of items from the anime on display, including scripts, production drawings, figures, the characters’ school uniforms, and other one of a kind items. Furthermore, limited goods that were only sold at Comic Market were also for sale at the exhibit. It was easy to see that fans in attendance were deeply enjoying everything on display. This exhibit was a great experience for fans to get a behind the scenes look at the anime as well as snag limited goods.
