Kunzite and zoisite, nephrite and jadeite, beryl and tiger’s eye—there are plenty of characters in Sailor Moon whose names originate with gems and crystals, and when I first started the book I used to search it curious to see the meaning and effects associated with the gems and crystals what kind of colors and shapes they would take.
