About Me

LiSA

Singer / Japan

Hailing from Gifu, Japan, LiSA started out in the local band scene before moving to Tokyo in 2008 to pursue music opportunities. She first came to prominence through the hit anime TV series, "Angel Beats!" in 2010 when she was tapped as the 2nd generation vocalist for the band within the series, “Girls Dead Monster.” Her uniquely positive-sounding voice proved to be hugely popular and subsequent releases under the band’s name ranked high on the Oricon charts, steadily growing in popularity and fame.

The following year, LiSA made her debut as a solo artist with a mini-album, "Letter to U" in 2011, followed by a nationwide tour. Her first solo single released later in the year was titled “oath sign,” now a cult favorite as the opening theme song for the hit TV series, “Fate/Zero.” As such, LiSA quickly became a fan favorite among anime audiences, leading to a string of major anime theme songs including the explosive “crossing field,” to be featured as the first season opening theme song for the hugely popular “Sword Art Online,” ”traumerei” for “Day Break Illusion,” and “Rising Hope” for “The irregular at magic high school.” However, even her non-anime related singles chart within Top 10 on the Oricon rankings, proving her popularity not only among anime fans but mainstream J-pop-rock listeners as well.

LiSA's fanbase continues to grow exponentially in and out of Japan, having taken the stage at AFA Singapore 2011 & 2013, AFA Indonesia 2012, Anime Expo 2012, and at fan meetings in Shanghai and Taipei, with further international plans in the horizon. Only a mere three years into her career, LiSA made her mark with a solo concert at the legendary Nippon Budokan in January 2014, and will soon follow that up with two days of back-to-back concerts at the same venue in January 2015.

Thanks to her infectious, energetic live performances, down-to-earth disposition, and cute sense of fashion, all eyes are glued to this charismatic artist!
